Manchester City star striker Sergio Aguero is pushing for inclusion in the Citizens squad to face Stoke City on Saturday in what would be a surprise early return from the rib injury the striker suffered in a auto crash less than two weeks ago.
"He did his first training session after what happened, and he did it quite well", Guardiola said.
"Hopefully as soon as possible he will be back".
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner's present contract situation at the Nou Camp is uncertain, b ut Aguero said: "City would have no money problems in regards to signing Messi, but he is a symbol of Barcelona and it would be very hard for him to leave". We will see today. Maybe [Aguero will play against Stoke], we are going to see the last training session.
"Of course, he's not 100 per cent, but he's recovered quite well". It was not as risky as it could be. "He explained to us what happened and the most important thing is it was not as bad as it could have been".
Medical officials within the Argentina set-up suggested that Aguero would be out until November, but Aguero has come through three days of training unscathed, including his first full session with his team-mates on Thursday.

The wide receiver was originally responding to reports of the NFL making it mandatory to stand for the national anthem. The Titans remained in the locker room during the anthem before their Week 3 game against the Seattle Seahawks .
Aguero (rib) could be available for Saturday's match against Stoke City, according to manager Pep Guardiola.
While Aguero is on the verge of a comeback, captain Vincent Kompany is continuing to struggle with injury problems.
Midfielder Joe Allen will miss the match, after suffering concussion while on worldwide duty with Wales, while defenders Ryan Shawcross and Bruno Martins Indi are unlikely to feature due to respective back and groin complaints.
No date has ever been put on a potential return even though the problem is not regarded as overly serious.
"He is still injured", Guardiola said. He's much better but it is still individual training for him. "He'll notice how he feels and when he'll be able".
Guardiola maintained City's most pressing injury concern is Benjamin Mendy's long-term absence following cruciate knee ligament surgery.
