Mom Arrested After Daughter's Teacher Beaten With Brick

The teacher, identified as 46-year-old Janice Watkins, confiscated a phone from a fourth grade girl, who then allegedly bit her. Sources say the student's parents came to school, with the mother allegedly telling the teacher she was "going to get even".

While at a traffic light, Daishonta M. Williams, the parent of a Pittsburgh King student, allegedly threw a brick at the teacher's auto.

According to Pugh, the school district has a policy for each of its schools that prohibits cell phone usage in classrooms, but enforcement of the policy varies from school to school.

Williams previously told Channel 11 News that she followed Watkins as she left the school and approached her as she sat in her vehicle near the West End Bridge.

Daishonta Williams, 29, of the North Side is charged with aggravated assault, stalking, terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person.

Williams, who was charged in the assault, later accused Watkins of choking her daughter while punishing her.
