Officers killed, schools on lockdown after North Carolina prison break

Police rushed to a North Carolina prison on Thursday after fires were set and several of the facility's employees were injured during an attempted escape, officials said. The notice came just as Pasquotank High School students were due to be released for the day and after dismissal times for the elementary and middle schools, said Tammy Sawyer, a spokeswoman for Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools.

The Department of Public Safety said Pasquotank Correctional Institute can house about 900 close, medium and minium custody inmates.

Now, the council has come up with another major decision of allowing students above 25 years of age to apply for NEET 2018 . However, Supreme Court had passed a judgment that students above 25 would be allowed to appear for this examination.

Pasquotank CI is now under lockdown.

Students were dismissed, but those who ride the bus were required to have a parent at home when the bus arrived. However, extra precautions were still being taken to securely transport students home. Officials later confirmed to local media that at least six people were sent to the Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City.
