Porsche Passport subscription service to be trialled in the USA

The pilot program for Passport launches next month in Atlanta, but if that goes well, expect Porsche to add new markets after the test phase ends. Granted, that's still a good chunk of change, but considering you'll have access to several different versions of every auto in Porsche's main lineup, which includes both the 911 and Panamera, whenever you want, it's remarkably affordable. It will help consumers look around for more options when buying vehicles or leasing models. The good news is, Porsche's new Passport subscription program allows anyone in Atlanta to subscribe for $2,000 per month.

The price of the membership covers tax, registration, maintenance, insurance and detailing fees.

The Launch level, which costs US$2000 ($2570) per month, provides on-demand access to eight variants, including the 718 Boxster, 718 Cayman S, Macan S and Cayenne. "Catering to customers' desire to experience our sports cars in new ways is a part of our core strategy", said Klaus Zellmer, head of Porsche North America, in a release.

For $3,000 a month, your selection includes a more expensive line-up of vehicles such as the Porsche 911 Carrera S, the Panamera 4S sedan, the Macan GTS SUV and the Cayenne S E-Hybrid plug-in hybrid SUV. Prospective members will need to pay a US$500 ($643) one-off activation fee, and membership is subject to background and credit checks.
