Target is jumping into the voice shopping trend in a new partnership with Google.

The Google Express expansion follows Target's successful trial of the home-delivery shopping service in California and NY, allowing more guests across the country to shop Target's assortment via the service for delivery in two days.

Target, looking to keep pace with Wal-Mart Stores and Amazon.com, is expanding its pact with Google's shopping service to the entire USA and will soon add voice-activated smartphone purchases.

ESRB rules that loot boxes do not qualify as gambling

For many, the experience of shopping at Target is nearly a religious experience. To compete both through its Google Express website and on Google Home, Google needs to partner with retailers like Target and Walmart for mutual benefit.

Target had previously been testing Google's home delivery service, Google Express, only in select markets in California and NYC.

"We're excited to offer this service nationwide in time for the busy holiday season", Mike McNamara, Target's chief information and digital officer, said in a statement. With the newly formed partnership, Target is providing 2-day delivery on orders with free shipping on orders above $35. While the focus is on replenishing everyday essentials, Target customers can order other items as well.
