Thousands take part in "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" walk

On October 21, 2017 the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk comes to Chicago's Soldier Field for a day of fun and inspiration.

The walk which is in its 7 th year and aimed at increasing awareness about the disease was themed "our breasts, let's check them".

All funds raised at that event will be donated to the Saint Lukes Mountain States Tumor Institute (MSTI) emergency relief fund for non-medical expenses.

More than 6,000 people from around the community, volunteers and breast cancer survivors participated in the 20th Annual "American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" 5K walk.

More than 1,100 new cases of breast cancer have been diagnosed this year in Hawaii alone.

The goal is to get information about breast cancer out to women.

One of the best meteor showers will be visible tonight
The meteors have been visible since the start of October, although they will appear brighter during the peak period. The Orionid meteor shower appears to radiate from Constellation Orion (The Hunter), hence named after it.

Reports suggest that about 60% of patients report to the hospital at a late stage making it hard to be cured.

"All of us are affected by breast cancer, cancer in general, and we're going to do something about it this morning", one participant said. They recognized survivors and their fight by giving them pink necklaces.

President of BCI was grateful to the headline sponsor, Delta Airlines and several reputable multinational organizations as well as individuals that supported the walk.
