A convert to Islam from southern England, Jones was nicknamed the "White Widow" by the British press after her jihadi husband Junaid Hussain, also an IS militant, was killed by a drone in 2015.

The renowned British Daesh recruiter Sally Jones aka "White Widow" has been killed by a United States drone strike in Syria, reports The Independent.

Emirates eyes more NZ long-haul flights
The announcement follows Emirates' decision earlier this year to cease its service between Auckland and Sydney. Qantas and Emirates plan to increase their direct services to New Zealand.

There haven't been many tears shed for Ms Jones, A Whitehall source told The Sun: "The Americans zapped her trying to get away from Raqqa".

However, it was kept secret on both sides of the Atlantic over fears her 12-year-old son Jojo may have also died in the blast.

Before fleeing to Syria, computer hacker Hussain admitted publishing Tony Blair's address in 2011 and was jailed for six months after making hoax calls to a United Kingdom counter-terror hotline a year later.

When she arrived she married British-Pakastani hacker Junaid Hussain who was killed in a drone strike in 2015. Hussain, who died in a U.S. drone strike in 2015, was accused of planning "barbaric attacks against the West".

It is feared the 12-year-old son of Britain's most wanted woman may have been killed in the same drone strike that reportedly killed her in June.

A court in the U.S. heard that Hussain had used social media messages to convince people to become involved in terror plots.

She frequently used her Twitter to spread propaganda for ISIS and in the past had spoken of her wish to behead a Western prisoner in Syria and kill Christians with a "blunt knife".

Jones was claimed to have helped plot the ISIS kidnapping and filmed beheading of a U.S. army vet, while she was also allegedly involved in the planning of a foiled nightclub shooting.
