Zimbabwe's Robert Mugabe strips VP Emmerson Mnangagwa of justice ministry

ZIMBABWEAN President Robert Mugabe on Monday evening recycled same old ministers in a development the entire nations condemned as a cabinet of "clueless" ministers. In interviews soon after the swearing in ceremony at state house the newly appointed ministers said the vision is there from the visionary President Mugabe and what is left for them is to ensure it sees the light of day through different programmes and projects.

Among those reassigned were former Finance Minister Patrick Chinamasa who will now head the new Cyber Security, Threat Detection and Mitigation Ministry, and former Tourism Minister Walter Mzembi who has now assumed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The changes were announced as Chinamasa and Mupfumira were reportedly out of the country on government business.

An angry Grace Mugabe departed from a prepared speech at an event in Harare to attack Mr Mnangagwa.

Dow Jones blames technical error for headlines claiming Google is buying Apple
The story claimed that Apple founder Steve Jobs put the purchase price-an absurdly small $9 billion-in his will. No, it's fake news , and we don't have Facebook to blame for it, or at least not directly.

The reshuffle also removed control of the justice ministry from Mnangagwa and assigned other key posts to supporters of a faction that is linked to Mugabe.

"Ministers to the new cabinet should also ensure that their loyalty is exclusively to their appointing authority, who is none other than President Mugabe".

"It was a role that placed him at the centre of government, giving the appearance that he was more powerful compared to his counterpart (Phelekezela Mphoko)".

President Mugabe and his wife took issue with claims that the VP had eaten poisoned ice cream from their family dairy and they have been complaining in public that Mr Mnangagwa did not try to distance himself from the allegations.

ALDS, Indians vs. Yankees Game 3 live stream
If the Yankees get past Carrasco and Game 3, it will be Josh Tomlin on the Game 4 (or at least it's listed as for now). It is easy to forget when your team wins its division by 17 games despite the second-place team making the postseason.

So fierce had been the fights that the Vice President last week claimed he had been poisoned at youth league rally in Gwanda in Matabeleland South forcing him to be airlifted to South Africa for emergency treatment.

"The reshuffle is to deal with the factional and succession politics within the ruling ZANU-PF party", Bulawayo-based analyst Dumisani Mpofu told AFP.

She added that the vice-president, who has allies among veterans of Zimbabwe's war of independence, was fomenting a coup.

Area tax on sugary drinks on way out after vote
As I outlined last week, it is up to the commissioners to choose our direction on revenue, and I respect their authority to do so. Gainer is one of 15 commissioner who voted to repeal the oppressive Preckwinkle soda tax.
