Here's a look at what some big stores have planned for Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

A number of big-name chains such as John Lewis, Game, Tesco and Argos have extended their high street opening hours and many retailers have already offered days of deals in a bid to maximise hype and spending around the global event. Stores are trying to step up their game online and in person to attract customers who are moving back and forth from store to phone shopping.

With Black Friday having stretched into a November full of deals, stores will be stepping it up as holiday shopping begins in earnest. With the growing success and popularity of Black Friday, many retailers have chose to continue their sales events to offer huge discounts on Cyber Monday too. According to analysis from NPD's Checkout, a receipt mining service, the traditional top holiday shopping days do not have the same value for brick-and-mortar retailers that they once did.
