House Arrest Ends As Manafort's Bail Is Modified

Former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort has reached a bail compromise with the special counsel that could end his house arrest and Global Positioning System monitoring in exchange for pledging to forfeit $11 million worth of property if he violates release conditions.

Manafort, an worldwide political consultant, has surrendered his passports and agreed he won't travel overseas.

Manafort has been subject to house arrest and Global Positioning System monitoring since he was charged with conspiracy and money laundering in connection with Mueller's investigation of Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

The other properties listed included the couple's house in the Hamptons of Long Island, N.Y., worth $4 million, a home in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., worth $1.25 million and his condo in Alexandria, Va., worth $2.7 million, all calculated after mortgages.

Shares in bookseller Barnes & Noble tumbled 12 per cent Thursday after the company reported a sharp drop in quarterly sales. We should also note their 52-Week High and Low: the shares now trade -48.11% away from their high and 9.60% from the low.

The agreed-upon bail package would require Manafort to forfeit four of his properties in Virginia, Florida, and New York - worth a combined $11.65 million - if he violated his bail by attempting to travel internationally or anywhere outside of Florida, Virginia, New York, and Washington, DC.

Manafort, who was indicted October 27 with a business associate, Rick Gates, would be released from home confinement in Alexandria, Virginia, and would no longer be subject to electronic monitoring, according to the filing.

A federal judge must now consider whether to approve the deal. And while Manafort was able to reach an agreement with the special counsel's office about bail, it does not mean that he's reached any agreement with respect to the 12-count indictment that a grand jury returned last month against him and his longtime associate Rick Gates.

The properties are worth $11.65 million, according to the documents. They questioned his claimed $28 million of assets or net worth, stating he previously reported $136 million in assets in financial documents in May 2016.
