Multiple users have experienced trouble in operating the Google Assistant via Bluetooth headphones in Pixel 2 devices, however, Pixel 2 XL customers have reported unresponsive touch near the edges of the display. One owner who goes by the name "Deathsoldier11 " on the community even went ahead and conducted a test and found out that while the edged on his phone's display recognized swipes, they were not responsive to taps. However, tapping on the edges is not always detected by the handset. Android Police stated that the real culprit is the device's accidental touch protection feature, which can sometimes be over the top.

For now, it appears that the unresponsive screen edges of Google Pixel 2 XL have nothing to do with hardware defects. This issue can be solved through a software patch. "Google is well aware of the issue, and a fix will be rolled out shortly", the spokesperson said. The good news is that Google has acknowledged the issue and will sort it out in a future OTA update.
