OnePlus 5T touted to ship with dash charge technology

If you look at the wireless charging pads, it will only provide support for 15 watts of power, which is less than what is delivered by the dash charge. Pete Lau, the company's CEO, tweeted about the new phone and the tweet hints about the higher price of OnePlus 5T.

And he continued by saying that one of the reasons why OnePlus 5T will not feature wireless charging is because " wired quick charging solutions like ours clearly outshine wireless on quantitative measures".

IT raid in Jaya TV channel's Chennai office
Chennai: Income Tax (IT) officials on Thursday raided 187 locations belonging to relatives of jailed AIADMK leader V.K. The sources said that the raids at the TV channel's accounts branch is part of "Operation Clean Money".

In a post on OnePlus' forum, Lau explained that wireless charging won't make an appearance on the OnePlus 5T, because it's too restricted; it isn't as simple as slapping a handset on a charger and letting it juice up. Dash charging just needs an adapter and a cable whereas wireless charging includes messy things such as tables, lamps, cables, and the list is long. The OnePlus 5T will go on sale in North America and Europe on November 21.

Another reason Lau gives is that you can't use your phone to play games or stream video while its being kept on a wireless charging pad. Wireless charging is an exciting concept that has matured over the years. After a leak-filled pre-launch of the OnePlus 5, the company has changed its approach with the OnePlus 5T. Moreover, chances are, probably because Lau believes wireless charging technology has a lot of scopes to grow, the upcoming OnePlus phones may not wireless charging support anytime soon.

Anonymous Giants players rip on head coach Ben McAdoo
Ben McAdoo has lost the Giants' locker room, according to a televised ESPN report that cites the comments of an anonymous player. The Giants made the playoffs previous year in McAdoo's first season as a head coach in the NFL .

The main reason Lau's team decided against wireless charging, however, is because of power consumption. As pointed out by XDA, having wireless charging could benefit a lot of users by allowing them to have short but frequent intermittent charging all throughout the day. "But given the current state of this technology, Dash Charge is still the superior choice", he wrote. And you can't use your phone while it charges, since picking it up will stop the charging. However, Lau did mention that OnePlus will consider adopting wireless charging "when the time is right". "Given present-day infrastructures, wireless charging brings more limitations than freedom".

Furthermore, reports have indicated that the phone is expected to come out with a bezel-less display and will feature pretty much the same specifications as the regular OnePlus 5.

'Undateable' Creator Adam Sztykiel In Talks To Write 'Black Adam' Movie
Whichever film we get to see Black Adam in, I'm actually quite excited to see the seemingly indestructible Johnson play a villain. It'd no doubt give the sequel a boost after the first was critically mauled, and be an easy way of introducing the character.
