Shawn Mendes, Eminem among winners at MTV EMAs in London

Despite receiving six nominations - the most of any artist - Taylor Swift failed to win any awards.

The 45-year-old rapper wowed the crowds at The SSE Arena in Wembley, north west London on Sunday night (12.11.17) with a fantastic rendition of his new single, with Skylar Grey - who co-wrote the song - filling in Beyonce's vocals on the track.

He also denied that such maligning practice was initiated by the BJP against its own leaders in the past. Hardik said that he is "amused" that the BJP is so "petrified" of his existence in the political sphere.

"I'm not really sure how I got this, 'cause I haven't had an album out in a few years" he quipped in his acceptance speech, adding "I got one coming though".

The best video, claimed by USA rapper Kendrick Lamar, was one of the few awards to be chosen by the MTV team.

Notable performances included local London grime star Stormzy, who took to the stage poking out of the sunroof of a police auto, and Travis Scott, who entered standing atop what looked like a floating hawk. London grime artist Stormzy arrived in a police vehicle and left in a blaze of fireworks after performing the rousing "Big For Your Boots".

Eminem kicked off the MTV EMAs 2017 a short while ago with his first live performance of the new single.
