A pregnant woman in New Hampshire says she killed her roommate's pet ferret as revenge against the roommate for stealing her clothes.

Firefighters called to the scene said the pet had sustained "distinct linear burn marks" that were consistent with the shape of the oven coil.

Police in New Hampshire say Ivana Clifford, 26, told officers she cooked the beloved animal - named "Angel" - because her roommate, Cara Murray, stole her clothes.

The move comes one day after multiple outlets reported that Davis would have season-ending groin surgery. Davis has been listed on the injury report just twice since Week 4, both days listed as "rest days".

The Manchester resident faces arraignment Wednesday afternoon on a felony animal cruelty count.

She also said because she was 32-weeks pregnant she didn't think a ferret should be in their Manchester apartment, police added.

"Losing a ferret is like losing a kid or a family member", she added through tears.

Clifford was scheduled to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North on November 8, 2017. "I just don't understand - I don't know why she would do that".

"These allegations demonstrate a profound level of sadism that is of deep concern to this court", the judge told Clifford in court, according to NECN.

Murray says there was smoke pouring out of her even before they discovered that Angel was dead.
