Bengaluru Ola cab driver harasses and molests woman passenger

In yet another incident which has raised questions over the safety of women, a 23-year-old fashion industry professional was allegedly sexually harassed in Bengaluru by the driver of her Ola cab.

However, the cab driver allegedly continued to approach her in an indecent manner despite her warnings. A similar disgusting shameful incident was reported from Hyderabad where the 26-year-old Uber driver was arrested after the woman passenger on board filed a complaint against the driver.

She then started banging on the vehicle windows, after which he let her out.

The incident took place around 10.30 pm on Sunday, in a deserted spot on the Ring Road in south east Bengaluru.

The victim, who is a fashion stylist, said the driver had engaged the child lock to trap the woman in his vehicle.

It was further added, "We regret the unfortunate experience the customer had during their ride".

The woman, however, alleged that Ola did not inform her about the action it took against the driver.

The woman said she has complained only to the Ola Cabs safety team and did not lodge a formal complaint with the police. "What is the company doing to ensure women who use the service are safe?" she asked. "He called the next day (Monday) and told me not to register a complaint against him", the victim said.
