Democrat Rep. Al Green: I Will Force House Vote on Impeachment

A vote to impeach President Donald Trump will happen on the House of Representatives floor on Wednesday, a Democrat has vowed.

In a tweet on Tuesday, December 5, Green, a Democrat from Texas, announced he had released articles of impeachment against Trump, on which the House will vote on Wednesday. "It divides and damages the social fabric of our country in ways that obstruction of justice can not".

The impeachment resolution that Green's office circulated to reporters on Tuesday did not include allegations that Trump had committed a crime or obstructed justice.

Mueller's Russian Federation probe cost $3.2 million in first four months
According to personal financial disclosures made during the campaign, Trump owed at least $713 million on 16 different loans . He said that no subpoena had been received by the bank and that no records had been turned over to Mueller as a result.

Instead, Green highlighted Trump's supposed association with "White Nationalism, Neo-Nazism and Hate", as well as "Inciting Hatred and Hostility", as offenses worthy of impeachment.

Donald Trump's least presidential moments so far. That's because Republicans control the House and Democrats are split, with many believing it is premature to discuss impeachment as special counsel Robert Mueller investigates possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation in the 2016 election.

Democratic leaders have previously warned party members against enacting articles of impeachment against Trump, arguing that such a move would be premature given the ongoing investigations into the former NY businessman's election campaign and administration.

Deutsche Bank Now Covering Rite Aid (NYSE:RAD) With $2.25 Target
Mizuho set a $2.00 target price on shares of Rite Aid and gave the stock a "hold" rating in a report on Saturday, October 7th. The firm earned "Neutral" rating on Thursday, October 29 by Goldman Sachs. (NYSE:EOG) rating on Monday, August 10.

The resolution has no real chance of advancing in the House. But even a motion to table could present difficulties for some of Green's colleagues as a symbolic vote on removing Trump from office. But if they vote against tabling the motion, they could be forced to explain to moderate and independent voters why they acted to impeach Trump before the investigations had concluded.

Green last week said that he would bring a vote this week but had not given a specific date. "May everyone vote their conscience knowing that history will judge us all".

Green's intentions have raised concerns among other Democrats, however, with some arguing that the move may be premature and ultimately work against them.
