Federation Internationale de Football Association watchdog bans Brazilian soccer chief Del Nero for 90 days

FIFA on Friday suspended the head of the Brazilian football federation Marco Polo Del Nero for 90 days over a breach of its rules.

The 76-year-old, a former member of the FIFA Council, is the latest prominent South American official to be banned by the sport's governing body as part of its investigation into a vast corruption scandal. He has not been extradited from Brazil to face the charges.
