Fuel scarcity: Senate summons NNPC boss


The Federal Executive Council has ordered the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and the Petroleum Ministry to ensure the current fuel scarcity in some parts of the country does not last beyond weekend.

But majority of filling stations in Lagos and environs were dispensing while scanty queues were noticed in few others.

In Kano State, for instance, the scarcity is already biting hard as President Muhammadu Buhari begins his two-day working visit today.

The solution to the lingering fuel crisis is for the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to stop supplying fuel to Depots and Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPMAN), the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) National President, Chief Chinedu Okoronkwo, has said.
