Google pulls YouTube from Amazon streaming devices

YouTube states that it has tried to reach an agreement with Amazon and is simply looking for an even exchange of support for each others' products.

YouTube will be gone from the Echo Show later today, and it will disappear from Amazon Fire TV devices January 1, according to an alert that pops up when the app opens. "But Amazon doesn't carry Google products like Chromecast and Google Home, doesn't make Prime Video available for Google Cast users, and last month stopped selling some of Nest's latest products", a Google spokesperson said in an emailed statement.

Either way, this is a fascinating insight into the psychology of a referee, particularly at the 42-year-old's level of the game. "There is no ducking the issue".

Now that YouTube is again blocked on the Show and on Fire TV, Amazon might have to come to the bargaining table. "We hope we can reach an agreement to resolve these issues soon", the Google spokeswoman said.

As first reported by The Verge, YouTube is pulling its service from the Echo Show, and more significantly, Amazon Fire TV.

Teen Told Mom He Molested 2 Boys. He Told Cops 50
Police said Boston admitted to the alleged crimes that occurred in his prior home cities of Lakewood and Buena Park. Officers learned that the suspect called his mother and said he had molested two young children hours earlier.

Amazon and Google are at odds after the Silicon Valley search giant pulled YouTube off Amazon's TV streaming service. In November, Amazon managed to add YouTube support back onto the Echo Show, but that it was a more basic web-based interface.

If you've got an Amazon FireTV, say goodbye to using it to watch YouTube. These smart home devices compete with Amazon's increasing smart home lineup, though older Nest cameras and products from Nest are still listed on the shopping site. All things being equal, it stands to reason that the move will hurt Amazon a lot more than it will hurt Google.

Canada Trade Deficit Narrows in October to C$1.47 Billion
Meanwhile, imports fell 1.6 per cent to $45.9 billion in October, mainly due to a drop in motor vehicles and parts. The goods deficit increased 5.9% to $69.1 billion, while the services surplus shrunk slightly to $20.3 billion.

Google is trying to force Amazon's hand in the latest update to the two companies' feud. The apparent goal was to push its own video streaming hardware instead. Blocking YouTube from the Echo Show, and especially the Fire TV products, makes all of them far less desirable compared to competitive products such as Roku, Chromecast, and Apple TV. The lack of YouTube and YouTube TV will leave the Fire TV short a major app that other devices like Roku, Apple TV, and Android TV all offer.
