Jordan Peele, Simon Kinberg 'Twilight Zone' Reboot Greenlit At CBS All Access

CBS All Access has greenlit a reboot of classic series The Twilight Zone with Jordan Peele attached. And given the anthology format, here's hoping Peele writes and directs an episode.

Details on the project are slim at this time, but CBS states that it has tapped Jordan Peele, Simon Kinberg, and Marco Ramirez as executive producers for the show.

CBS announced today that it has issued a series order for a revival of The Twilight Zone from Jordan Peele's Monkeypaw Productions and Simon Kinberg's Genre Filmsfor its All Access streaming service.

First broadcast in 1959, The Twilight Zone was a pioneer in television drama, known for its suspenseful music composed by French-Romanian Marius Constant and the black-and-white spiral of the credits. CBS has yet to announce a release date, casting, or an episode count. Dark Net's Win Rosenfeld and Changeling's Audrey Chon are also set to serve as executive producers.

Added Kinberg: "The Twilight Zone was a touchstone in my life".

CBS All Access has ordered a full series.

"The original The Twilight Zone bridged science fiction, horror and fantasy together to explore human nature and provide social commentary in a way that audiences had never seen before", said Julie McNamara, exec vp originals at CBS All Access.

Taking command of the quartermaster position in the redecorated headquarters will be Captain Butcher, a grizzled British vet. Winter Siege begins on Friday December 8th at 6pm in the United Kingdom , and continues through to January 2nd, 2018.

There's no word yet on when "The Twilight Zone" will make its debut.

It is an extremely competitive arena that The Twilight Zone will enter with plenty of competition from other shows including Black Mirror.

It has already been remade twice, broadcast from 1985 to 1989 on CBS and again between 2002 and 2003 on the cable channel UPN. Ramirez is repped by UTA.
