Monster Hunter: World beta kicks off December 9, here are the details


If you've been a big fan of Monster Hunter, then you're probably excited about the next installment, Monster Hunter: World which is coming out next year. The beta will kick off this Saturday, December 9th at 9:00 a.m. PT / 12:00 p.m. ET and run until Tuesday, December 12th at 8:59 a.m. PT / 11:59 a.m. ET. You can download the beta in advance on December 8 for those that want to jump in as quickly as possible. You'll be able to complete three quests across two different environments in the game: the Ancient Forest and the Wildspire Waste.

In addition to requiring a Plus subscription, expect the beta to take up 5.9 GB of free space. The download for the beta will go live December 8, with an expected file size of 5.1 GB, but players should allocate at least 5.9 GB for the download.

One new feature that will be present in the Monster Hunter: World beta is the Training Room, where players can try out the different weapons to choose the best one for them. Finally, those who use the same Sony Entertainment Network account in both the beta and full game will get rewards when the game launches in January.
