Moving fire triggers evacuations in San Diego County

A fast-moving brush fire near Bonsall has charred 150 acres, destroyed two buildings and damaged 12 others and prompted mandatory evacuations in the area.

Cal Fire Deputy Chief Dave Nissen said 700 firefighters were were on the scene, along with firefighting helicopters, and additional aircraft from the Navy and Marines would be available Friday morning. "There have been casualties". The blaze appears to be moving and growing extremely rapidly. It's unclear where those horses came from. "They turned horses loose to keep them out of the fire and they [were] running around on the track-that's what I heard". "They had to move the horses out of the stalls".

Firefighters battled other huge fires in the state as well. Several people in the area's horse community put out word, via social media, that experienced horse people were being asked to go to the fairgrounds to assist with housing the animals.
