Though he received an opportunity with the Buffalo Bills during the 2016 season, he was no longer the big-play asset he was earlier in his career.

The downside of Bush retiring is that it means his career will end on a low note. Instead, everyone will remember him for his brilliance at USC and early on in National Football League his career with the Saints and Dolphins.

The 6-foot, 205-pound Bush, a former Heisman Trophy victor, played in 134 games and gained 9,088 yards from scrimmage during his career.

During an interview with NFL Network on Friday, 32-year-old Bush said he is ready to hang up his cleats.

After spending the entire 2017 season as a free agent, it sounds like Reggie Bush has officially given up on making a return to the NFL. He was the second overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, going to the Saints. It's not breaking news.

"I'm done", Bush said.

He's been the most professional player I've seen all season. "It's not fair to ask those kind of questions". It looks like the fitness is there, I think that he's learning in the position that he's playing.

Bush also won a Super Bowl in 2009 with the Saints. I've been saying it. The former Heisman Trophy victor officially called it quits during a recent live TV broadcast, hanging up his cleats after playing for 11 seasons and splitting time between the New Orleans Saints, Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins, San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills.

"Listen, once you get to a certain age as a running back, they just start to slowly weed you out", Bush said.

He played college at USC, recording over 4,500 yards and 38 touchdowns. Reggie Bush spoke with Edward Lewis of NFL.com, and announced he's walking away from the game. But yeah, man, I'm done. He finished his career with 1,286 carries for 5,490 yards and 477 receptions for 3,598 yards. He added four more touchdowns as one of the league's most unsafe punt returners during his first handful of years.
