Xiaomi has won many hearts at home and overseas with its wide range of smartphones.

With a market share of 23.5 per cent and having shipped 9.2 million smart phones in the quarters, the company has become the fastest growing smart phone brand in India with a growth rate of almost 300 per cent year on year, Sunil said. Following the trend, Xiaomi will be introducing display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 on both the devices. Additionally, the company also promoted the launch of the Xiaomi Redmi 5, with a few video teasers. The smartphones are set to succeed the Redmi 4 and Redmi Note 4, and based on the images revealed, they will sport a new design language with slimmer bezels and an 18:9 aspect ratio. Both the phones will come in Black, Blue, Gold, and Pink colour options, it mentions, which is also confirmed by Xiaomi officially.

Both the phones will look identical, and will only differ in the display size with the Redmi 5 Plus being the larger of the two.

Smartphone manufacturing major Xiaomi today launched the "Redmi 5A" in the city on the eve of the nationwide online sales. It is expected to sport a 12-megapixel sensor on the back and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Xiaomi has remained mum on the specs and pricing so far, barring some key confirmations such as the 18:9 display, MIUI 9, and a massive battery.

Considering Xiaomi Redmi 4 costs just Rs. 6,999, it may come as a disappointment for many to spend twice as much for a smartphone that only offers a tall FullView display.
