YouTube to counter extremist content with 10000 staff

However, unlike what has been claimed by Google, the bomb-making YouTube tutorial used by Abedi is available on Google networks again, despite being deleted in the wake of the terrorist attack, according to a report by another British newspaper the Sun.

"While some of these videos may be suitable for adults, others are completely unacceptable, so we are working to remove them from YouTube", Johanna Wright, Vice President of Product Management, YouTube, wrote in a blog post.

Google-owned video-sharing site YouTube will hire 10,000 people to keep a check on the negative content on the platform. Vidoes flagged by the software could lead to the uploader becoming ineligible for generating ad revenue.

However, YouTube has received criticism from video uploaders that the software is flawed.

On Monday, Wojcicki said that Google had plans to grow the team of people to address content policy violations to more than 10,000 next year.

"We've heard loud and clear from creators that we have to be more accurate when it comes to reviewing content, so we don't demonetise videos by mistake".
