ASUS also features other high-refresh devices such as the ROG Strix Scar Edition with the 144 Hz panel, and GTX 1070 graphics, along with the FX503 laptop, which is a 15.6-inch model with a 120 Hz refresh and GTX 1060 GPU.

As you might expect from one of the top League of Legends teams, the ROG Strix SKT T1 Hero Edition is optimised for multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) gaming. ASUS appears to have cracked the problem with cunning light-bending trickery and the ASUS ROG Bezel-free kit. The company is launching two new gaming rigs: the ROG Strix SKT T1 Hero Edition laptop and the ROG Strix GL12 desktop. Meanwhile, the ROG Strix SKT T1 Hero Edition will be available sometime within the first quarter of the year with pricing announced at launch.

That's backed up with one of Nvidia's GeForce GTX 1080 graphics cards, and 8GB of DDR4 system RAM (running at 2666MHz).

Asus further notes that this rig has an easy-swap SSD tray to make upgrading storage a dead simple affair.

Aura Sync, as the name suggests, allows you to synchronize lighting effects with other peripherals that support the tech (keyboards, mice, headsets and more - see later in this story).

The ROG Strix Flare is an RGB mechanical gaming keyboard constructed with world-renowned Cherry MX RGB switches. Dedicated media keys are present as is an intuitive volume wheel and detachable wrist rest.

The keyboard comes with a ROG themed case, for easy transport, as well as illuminated acrylic inserts, including a blank insert which you can customize with your own logo. First up is the ROG Aura Terminal, a four-channel addressable RGB controller that works with Aura Sync and the company's new ROG Halo technology.

Next up is the Asus Bezel-free Kit, which is made of vertical refractive lenses meant to hide the bezels in multi-monitor setups. Connecting the displays via the long lens strips at that angle allows light to be refracted across the area that would house the screens' bezels, and the image from the connecting monitors to be blended together to create the illusion of a bezel-less, seamless screen.

The ROG Strix GL12 will be available in April, at prices to be determined.

Since the kit uses no power or special tools beyond the magic of light refraction, it is compatible with a wide variety of monitors of different brands and sizes. The ROG Spotlight is matte-black finished and can be magnetically attached to surfaces.
