Aubameyang to wear No.14 at Arsenal

Arsenal are evidently extremely keen to bring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the Emirates Stadium this month.

Arsenal have intensified their attempts to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund, raising their offer for the striker from £44 million to a potential club-record £50 million.

The Gunners want to add another quality attacker to the ranks and Aubameyang has been linked heavily in recent times.

It reports that BVB will put an Aubameyang deal on ice unless the Gunners agree to include Olivier Giroud as part of an exchange this month.

The Telegraph reported recently that our opening £44m offer was rejected by Dortmund but the Mirror suggest a deal could eventually be reached at around £52m.

Dortmund are keen for Arsenal to include Olivier Giroud in any deal and their hardline stance could be a means to ensure the Gunners include the France global as a makeweight in the transfer.

"At the moment we are not close to any deal, Aubameyang or anybody else".

Further talks are expected to take place today and Dortmund boss Peter Stoger said last night that they wanted the negotiations finalised within the next 24-48 hours so it's going to be a pivotal couple of days.

"You never know how close you are, it is one of the possible movements, but we have other things in mind, we have plenty of opportunities in different positions".

And, perhaps more pertinently, the Bundesliga side want Aubameyang's replacement before allowing their start striker to leave.
