Circuit City to relaunch online next month, with stores on the horizon

Circuit City hasn't had a brick-and-mortar store in operation since 2009.

Electronics retailer Circuit City is plotting a comeback, one decade after it declared bankruptcy and ceased operations.

Shmoel said Circuit City will launch a personalized online shopping experience February 15 that melds e-commerce, social networking and solution selling to "allow the products to find the consumers" as they browse the site, Twice reported. Shmoel made the announcement this week at CES in Las Vegas.

Circuit City also recently hired Skinny IT to provide home installations and is working with Taylored Group to design experiential showrooms that would mirror its new site, Twice added.

The new Circuit City leadership team consists of executives with experience across top-tier leadership companies.

Shmoel acquired the brand, domain and associated trademarks for Circuit City in October 2015.
