Hazardous travel conditions are expected Friday as winter weather blitzes Middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky with an icy, snowy mix. Rain will change to freezing rain and/or sleet from west to east starting around 8-10 AM for the Shoals.

This is a complex system as we have an arctic front moving through this morning, dropping our temperatures.

In Mississippi, a light wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain was possible in the state's northern counties through early Friday afternoon.

The region will experience temperature highs in the low 60's on Thursday followed by rain and freezing temperatures Thursday night into Friday morning.

"Snow accumulations of 4" - 7" and up to 14" are possible for most mountain passes like MacDonald pass. Butte and Anaconda could see 1" - 3" of snow.
