Gillian Anderson explains why she has quit 'X-Files'

Season two of The X-Files revival dealt the actress's iconic character Dana Scully a deeply twisted blow in the premiere on January 3, "My Struggle III", when it was revealed she was impregnated with "science - alien science" against her will by the Cigarette Smoking Man (the word "rape" is never explicitly said, but come on).

Police still searching for suspect in possible armed robbery attempt
The Vestal Police Department is looking for a suspect after an armed robbery occurred at K&K's The Old Teahouse, on Wednesday. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Investigations Bureau (779-500-6551) or Crime Stoppers (815-963-7867).

The actress reprised her role as Federal Bureau of Investigation agent Dana Scully, which she originally played from 1993 to 2002, for a short revival series in 2016, but it proved so popular that she and co-star David Duchovny signed up for an eleventh series, which premiered last week. The actress said multiple times a year ago that the now airing eleventh season would be her last, and reiterated her position at the TCAs, saying definitively, "It's time for me to hang up Scully's hat". "I have so much respect for these guys", she said of her colleagues, "but I'm finished and thats the end of that..."

The classic sci-fi series starring David Duchovny and created by Chris Carter had a successful six-part return in 2016, prompting another five episodes for 2018. I wouldn't have been happy if those six were the way to say goodbye... It was dipping our toe back in again ... and getting to play these wonderful characters again. Mulder, however, may continue in his search; Duchovny said he was "good either way" if the show continued or ended.

The Internet Can't Get Over James Franco Blocking Tommy Wiseau
A Twitter account presumably belonging to actress Ally Sheedy apparently accused James Franco and Christian Bale of sexual abuse. Tommy Wiseau came this close to saying something during James Franco's speech at the Golden Globes , but Franco shut it down.

Gillian Anderson also mentioned that she won't be starring in American Gods on Starz. Fuller and Green chose to quit the series after clashing with producers Fremantle over the show's season two budget. "They did a show without me, so how do you like that?" As for David Duchovny, who has played her partner Fox Mulder since the inception of the series, he seems to be on the fence on whether or not the show could survive without Anderson. Now the actress has not only confirmed that this is the end of the line for her on The X-Files, but she has shut down the notion of returning at any point in the future. But before we did these 10, I did think that that was going to be it. Why? I am hugely grateful, but there's lots of other stuff I want to do and I don't really want to be tied down to months and months of doing any particular one thing that I feel like I've done.
