ZIMBABWEAN president Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected in Namibia next week on an official visit, State House press secretary, Albertus Aochamub announced in a statement yesterday. "It can't be a crime in a constitutional democracy", he said.

The initiative is meant to legitimize the ongoing political transition in Zimbabawe following the resignation of long-serving former president Robert Mugabe in November, 2017, at the insistence of the ruling Zanu PF party and the subsequent swearing in of Mnagagwa on Nov 24 as interim president.

"Chiwenga, they know only too well that they have come into power via the bullet and not the ballot", Moyo, who is in self-imposed exile, told the BBC's Hard Talk programme.

"The constitution of the country has been subverted and there has to be a return to constitutionalism".

Moyo and allies from the so-called G40 Zanu PF faction were sworn to oppose ex-vice president Emmerson Mnangagwa from succeeding the almost 94-year-old Mugabe.

But Malawi Government spokesperson Nicholas Dausi has said it is not true that Moyo is in the country.

"The army deployed itself in Zimbabwe when the constitution says only the president can deploy it", he said. Zhuwao - who was part of a faction loyal to former first lady Grace Mugabe - said that before Mugabe was pressured into resigning on November 24 groups that included women, youths and traditional leaders, as well as entrepreneurs, farmers and students had been joining forces within the ruling party. "They do not want to have free and fair elections let alone credible elections".

"Right now the cabinet of the Republic of Zimbabwe is led by the most feared people in the history of this country". "They have declared a bhora musango (sabotage voting) in 2018 and we get anxious when we hear that the likes of Zhuwao are still having a say in the structures of the party".
