Ruling Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) legislator Aijaz Ahmad Mir Wednesday said the militants were their brothers and demanded that militants should be taken on board to resolve the Kashmir issue. Yes, they are our brothers. "I request all to stop politicising their killings". Mir said that killings of terrorists in the state should not be celebrated while calling incidents of teenagers joining terror groups as a collective failure.
Pir however also sympathised with security personnel killed in the battle against terrorism. The PDP leader further asked the government to solve the Kashmir issue by holding dialogue with separatists and militants.
However, his statement didn't go down will with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who is in alliance with the PDP in Jammu & Kashmir.
