Person in custody after 'possible hostage situation' on Greyhound; No injuries reported

Numerous police agencies from Wisconsin and IL are responding to an incident involving a Greyhound bus.

Kenosha County, Wis., sheriff's Lt. Rory Zuerlein said his agency received a call around 10 p.m. that an armed passenger on the bus was threatening other riders, the paper reported.

Officials chased the bus from Racine County into Lake County, Illinois.

Interstate 94 was shut down in both directions in the area of where the bus stopped.

Officials say all 50 passengers were evacuated from the bus, and a suspect is in custody. About 50 people on the bus were removed and eventually brought to Chicago, the Greyhound spokesperson said.

Illinois State Police (ISP) are investigating a disorderly and possibly armed subject on eastbound I-94 at Illinois Route 173 near Wadsworth.

So far no injuries have been reported.

WISN 12 News spotted officers pulling a backpack from the bus and searching it along the side of the interstate.
