Porn requests in parliament peak after election

Access to porn-streaming sites have been attempted by British parliament computers more than 24,000 times over a six-month period following the general election past year, new figures have shown.

September was the most popular month for pornographic website requests, with 9,467 requests from both the Houses of Lords and Commons that month.

Parliamentary authorities claim, however, that most attempts to access online porn - which are nearly all blocked by the parliament's security software - were not intentional. MEPs said the majority of these pornographic sites "are not deliberate" and have made it clear that all sites with pornographic content have been excluded from the parliamentary network.

In 2017, around 160 requests were made to access pornography websites from computers within the House of Parliament in the United Kingdom.

Prime Minister Theresa May was forced to sack former First Secretary of State Damian Green last month after he was accused of misleading police over claims that pornographic material was found on computers in his Westminster office in 2008.

It's also worth noting that attempts to access some smut in Parliament are decreasing, with 213,020 in 2015 and 113,208 in 2016.

During this period, parliament was dissolved from late April to early June ahead of the general election, and MPs were away during the summer recess from the end of July to early September.

Should Parliament staff be punished for attempting to access porn, or is it not a big deal?

There's also a chance that Parliamentary porn fans may simply be accessing porn websites using their cellular connections instead, particularly as some mobile data packages can be pretty generous and offer decent 4G speeds.
