A driver who rode a wave of muddy water down a twisting street in his auto during a Southern California flood said Thursday he is lucky to be alive.

The Prius' owner, Desionne Franklin, was initially in control, but told news reporters, "When I got halfway down the hill, I just felt this burst of water hit the back of the vehicle", he said. In this unsafe scenario, a man escaped a massive mudslide by racing his vehicle down a hill and counts himself as extremely lucky that he could manage to escape it unhurt, unharmed and alive.

"I just got pushed down the side of a hill by a wall of water and mud", Mr Franklin, 44, said in an Instagram video after the terrifying ride.
