WEST HAM UNITED manager, David Moyes, was a relieved man after Reece Burke's extra-time victor finally saw of plucky Sky Bet League One outfit, Shrewsbury Town, in an otherwise frustrating Emirates FA Cup third-round replay at the London Stadium. The pair have been with Shrewsbury since the start of the season and have helped the club to second place in League One. Quite the time for Burke to score his first goal for West Ham, and it prevented some humiliation for Moyes to deal with on the back of their 4-1 thrashing of Huddersfield on Saturday.
That has led Chelsea to state their interest in a potential permanent deal for Carroll, who missed Tuesday night's FA Cup third-round replay against Shrewsbury Town with an ankle injury.
"Somebody was going to have to come up with something and Reece has struck it really sweetly, so I'm pleased".
Liverpool's Can insist no deal with Juventus
Liverpool midfielder Emre Can says he has not signed a pre-contract with Juventus and is still in discussions over staying at Anfield.
"I've enjoyed it, I've had good times, I've had bad times but ultimately you want to win the games and I'm glad I've won a few!" said Hammers boss David Moyes.
West Ham twice had efforts cleared off the line in the first half of extra-time, having been pushed all the way by the League One promotion chasers.
The Hammers looked to have landed a coup over the summer when they signed Hernandez, forking out £17million to land the Mexican global as Slaven Bilic thought he had landed the goalscorer West Ham needed.
Sumlin says coaching Arizona is `the right challenge'
Between his old job and his new one, Kevin Sumlin could be the highest paid college football coach in the country this year. Arizona Board of Regents Chairman Bill Ridenour said no tuition dollars or public funds will be used for the payout.
"It is vitally important to keep Marko and Manuel", Irvine added.
"It would be awesome if we could cause that upset and get through to the fourth round", he he said. I want to add to my squad, not lose anybody.
"Out of all the players on show - I don't mean it disrespectfully to the goalscorer - but the type of goal we conceded was heart-breaking".
