Award-winning composer Johann Johannsson dead at 48

Johannsson was found dead Friday at his apartment in Berlin, where authorities were investigating the cause of death, said Tim Husom, his Los Angeles-based manager. The cause of his death is now unknown.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, his manager confirmed the news.

"It is with profound sadness that we confirm the passing of our dear friend Johann", Redbird Music Management wrote in a statement on Johannsson's Facebook page.

Johannsson-who blended classical form and electronic instrumentation-was nominated for "Arrival" and scored several films out in 2018, including "Mary Magdalene".
