- Senator Mark Warner got caught having extensive contact with a lobbyist for a Russian oligarch.
Mr. Warner, Virginia Democrat, was in contact with lobbyist Adam Waldman, who had ties to Russian billionaire Oleg V. Deripaska, to try and connect with Christopher Steele, the author of the dossier.
"We want to do this right private in London don't want to send letter yet cuz if we can't get agreement wud rather not have paper trail", Warner wrote back March 30 as the two worked to hammer out the conditions of the meeting.

In a tweet Thursday, Rubio (who also sits on the committee) tweeted that Warner had disclosed the contacts to the committee previous year, and that they had "no effect" on the committee's ongoing investigation into possible collusion between Americans and Russian Federation during the 2016 election.
Rubio revealed that Warner had already informed the committee of the contacts and indicated it was not a big deal to the rest of the committee.
