Kangana Ranaut on Manikarnika controversy: Fringe group is defaming Rani Laxmibai

Ranaut, who essays the role of the queen of Jhansi in 'Manikarnika, ' was on her way to Bikaner for shooting when she was surrounded by a huge crowd at Jodhpur airport. However, a visit of the movie producer Kamal Jain to Bhrahman Mahasabha headquarter at Jaipur and a written assurance nipped the protest before budding. The head of this fringe outfit claims that the period film contains some objectionable scenes on Rani Lakshmibai, who was herself a Brahmin. The actress has been frequently travelling as she is shooting for the upcoming film Manikarnika - The Queen of Jhansi. She had led our country's first struggle for Independence and had laid down her life for the country.

"JAIPUR-Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut on February 8 said there was nothing controversial in her upcoming movie 'Manikarnika", adding that the controversy is being created just for the simple reason that a few people want to get famous. She is a warrior who fought against the British.
