Repeated incidents like these have created a trust deficit between the school staff and parents and also raised serious concerns for security of their students in school. A senior police official said the parents of the Class 2 student have alleged that their daughter was abused by the dance teacher of the school.

Education minister Partha Chatterjee said the government will look into the matter if there were lapses on the part of the school. Yesterday, the girl complained about the teacher to her parents, he said. Nevertheless, the parents have continued their protest outside the school which has disrupted the traffic at Rashbehari Avenue. Angry parents demanding action against the accused teacher gathered in front of the school in Deshapriya Park in south Kolkata on Friday morning. Authorities deployed policemen at the school to tackle the situation.
