Naked passenger prompts Seattle-bound plane to return to Alaska

A flight to Seattle had to be diverted to Anchorage after a passenger on board locked himself in the bathroom, removed all his clothes and "refused to follow crew instructions".

Of course, Alaska is very cold, but perhaps he was misled about how warm it was further south, where the plane was headed?

Federal Bureau of Investigation agents responded to the airport and questioned the man as well as passengers who had been onboard the diverted flight, but a spokesman for the USA attorney for Alaska said no charges had been filed as of Wednesday afternoon.

"Flight attendants did find that the subject was naked", said Airport Police and Fire Sgt. Darcey Perry.

An Alaska Airlines flight bound to Seattle, Washington, on Wednesday was diverted back due to an incident that involved a naked passenger onboard the plane.

Video footage submitted by a fellow traveler on the flight shows the moment that the entire plane was informed that the plane would be returning to Anchorage. "We appreciate your cooperation".

Kate Danyluk, a teacher from Anchorage, told The Associated Press that she knew something was wrong because the flight attendants kept going back and forth in the aisles wearing rubber gloves.

She said several men stood near the bathroom to block everyone from seeing the naked man get taken off the flight.

The incident comes in the wake of another event in an American Airlines flight from Chicago to Hong Kong.

It is unclear whether or not charges will be brought against him. "The passenger was escorted off the flight by officers", said Thompson.

The flight, which was originally scheduled to take off at 1:25 a.m., ultimately departed again at 6:37 a.m., according to the airline's website.

"While no emergency was declared, pilots made the decision to return to Anchorage", the spokesperson told local news channel KTVA.

Federal Bureau of Investigation agents responded to the airport and spoke with the naked passenger, Perry said, but it wasn't clear whether he was arrested.

He wrote, "Flight 146 arrived at Anchorage International around 2:45 a.m. and was met by law enforcement officers at the gate".
