Nikki Haley to Palestinians and the United Nations: 'I will not shut up'

The human security, rights and dignity of five million Palestinian refugees are at stake, as well as the stability in the region, considered the highest representative of the UN. Israel considers the entire city, including the eastern sector, to be its undivided capital.

President Donald Trump once described the prospect of a peace pact between Israelis and Palestinians as the "ultimate deal", a foundational diplomatic breakthrough that could burnish his presidency and help restore America's standing in the world.

Haley, who arrived at the meeting with Kushner and Middle East Envoy Jason Greenblatt, also called on Abbas to get past his rejection of the US' stance to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital, telling him that decision will not change.

Abbas had angrily rejected a leading US role in brokering peace talks after Trump's December 6 recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital, but in his United Nations speech he called for convening a peace conference in mid-2018 with "broad global participation" but one in which the "foremost" conveners were the five permanent members of the Security Council and the members of the Quartet, the four entities guiding Middle Eastern peacemaking.

The Palestinians are furious at President Donald Trump for overturning decades of USA policy and recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

If a school or the NCAA is hit where it counts, in the wallet, it would hurt them far more than the "penalties" now being imposed. On Tuesday, Interim University of Louisville President, Greg Postel, believes the NCAA is in the wrong by taking these actions.

In April of a year ago, reports revealed that Trump had officially asked Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in a meeting held in Bethlehem to cut the monthly stipends the PA government pays to thousands of Palestinian prisoners suffering for decades in Israeli jails and solitary confinement. Abbas proposed a referendum on any peace plan to be approved by the Palestinian people. She said that the Palestinians in the West Bank have also suffered, where "too many have died".

Abbas accused Israel of "acting as a State above the law".

In another sign that peace efforts could soon be back on track, Abbas called for a multilateral peace conference this summer that would include the United States in a leading role.

The United States is a leading member of the Quartet and the Security Council, signaling Abbas was again ready to defer to USA leadership on the peace process. Rather, the Trump administration's moves concerning Palestine has proven month after month that Trump had been apparently tasked to terminate the Palestinian cause by putting an end for Palestinian rights that have been guaranteed for decades by the worldwide resolutions and covenants. But there have been no serious negotiations since gaps widened following the 2009 election of Benjamin Netanyahu as Israel's prime minister.

The Palestinian leader added into his prepared remarks: "We are employees for the occupation".

Dozens of students in Bellingham, Wash., began preparing for the walk-out gathering to make signs late Tuesday night. Cruz also had a record of mental health issues and received treatment in a mental health facility at least once.

The U.N. chief voiced opposition to a one-state solution saying: "It is simply impossible to square the circle of a one-state reality with the legitimate national, historic and democratic aspirations of both Israelis and Palestinians".

Scheduled to speak after Abbas was Haley - but Abbas left the room before she could begin her speech.

The Israeli UN ambassador Danny Danon spoke directly after Abbas, who left the meeting after his speech, and blamed the Palestinian president for inspiring "a culture of hate within Palestinian society". "He continues to run away from peace, and continues to pay terrorists and their families $347 million".

"Mr. Abbas, you have made it clear with your words and with your actions that you are no longer part of the solution", he said. "You are the problem". But we will not chase after you. "The choice, Mr. president, is yours".

"Or, you can choose to put aside your anger about the location of our embassy, and move forward with us toward a negotiated compromise that holds great potential for improving the lives of the Palestinian people", she concluded.

Should 'bump stocks' be banned in the US?
According to the New York Times, the National Rifle Association (NRA) has previously backed further regulations on bump stocks. Bump stocks were found among the weapons used in the Las Vegas shooting that killed 58 people October 1.

Those truths, according to Haley, were that the Palestinians must "choose between two paths", one of "absolutist demands, hateful rhetoric, and incitement to violence" and the second that of negotiation and a willingness to make peace.
