With a few hours left before the Year of the Dog event kicks off in "Overwatch", game director Jeff Kaplan has revealed that many updates that the well-loved game title will be receiving in celebration for the seasonal event. From publisher and developer Blizzard Entertainment, Overwatch is a team-based multiplayer first-person shooter game, but one in which there's a heavy focus on the various characters.
The Year of the Dog event follows the Overwatch cosmetic update released last month and is a revamped version of the Year of the Rooster event last year, which introduced the Capture the Flag mode. In addition to the Overwatch Year of the Dog skins, there are new sprays, emotes, voice lines and player icons.
In the latest Overwatch Developer Update, game director Jeff Kaplan talked about the Year of the Dog event, which will launch on February 8. Additionally, players will be able to switch their skins at the beginning of each match.

Speaking of skins, lastly, and for some players most importantly, Kaplan revealed that there will be six legendary skins that will roll out with the Year of the Dog event, including one each for Mercy and Genji. Unsurprisingly, they look downright fantastic.
This year, we're celebrating Lunar New Year with changes to our Capture the Flag mode, including a new competitive mode, the new map Ayutthaya, and many gameplay improvements. Widowmaker, Phara, Genji, McCree, Mercy, Zarya, Junkrat, D Va, Roadhog, Symmetra, Ana, Bastion, Mei, Zenyatta, Tracer, Winston, and Reinhardt will all be getting into the spirit of Chinese new year with some holiday themed skins.
