Pillion-riding Amit Shah leads 1L strong rally in Jind, Haryana

Raj Kumar Saini, the BJP MP from Kurukshetra, has said that he will not attend the rally, and would announce the formation of a new political outfit soon.

As the party organised the rally to kickstart its campaign much ahead of next year's state Assembly elections, the BJP chief said, "The Congress has said that when Amit Shah comes, he should come with a progress report of four years".

The rally has commenced early morning in the district with various local BJP leaders seen enthusiastically riding their bikes to join the rally.

The Khattar government has reportedly agreed to most of their demands, including taking steps to give reservation in jobs to Jats and withdrawal of cases against protesters, who indulged in violence and arson during the Jat agitation in February 2016. "Even after four years, opponents can not accuse the Modi government of corruption", Shah said at his "Yuva Hunkar" rally in Haryana's Jind. But, it seems that Haryana government has assured the tribunal that it only Bikes that have pollution clearance are going to be included in the rally.

Meanwhile, the Akhil Bhartiya Jat Arakshan Sangharsh Samiti (ABJASS) has chose to call off its proposed blockade of the bike rally.

The rally is being seen as an attempt by the BJP to consolidate its hold on Jind and adjoining areas.

Khattar is personally overseeing the arrangements along with state party president Subhash Barala and Haryana BJP party in-charge Anil Jain. According to sources, Shah will arrive in Jind from Delhi and Haryana CM Khattar will arrive from Chandigarh.

Addressing "Hunkar rally' of the party's youth brigade at Pandu Pandara village, Shah said the BJP will soon take its tally of states in which it is in power to 21 from 19". The Jat agitators had announced that planned to reach Jind in tractor-trolleys to disrupt the bike rally.
