"The passengers have also been given choice of a full refund", the official said.

This is the second problem affecting Pratt & Whitney GTF engines since the start of their marketing, the first causing delays in 2017 in delivery of the A320neo, the re-engined version of Airbus' single-aisle plane.

The grounded aircraft are powered by Pratt & Whitney engines and the move follows a directive from European aviation safety regulator EASA.

Trump Administration Wants to Privatize the International Space Station
The United States has already spent some Dollars 100 billion to launch, operate and support the orbital station. Boeing now operates the station for NASA, which costs $3 to $4 billion annually.

Airbus said 113 of the jets at 18 airlines use the Pratt geared turbofan engine, but not all are affected. Those engines are fitted with aft hub modification in the high pressure compressor, EASA says.

Hawaiian Airlines said in a statement that it's identified one plane in its fleet - an Airbus A321neo -- that may be impacted.

The EASA said that "several occurrences of inflight shutdown and rejected takeoff have been reported on certain" A320neo-family aircraft powered by GTF engines. A Pratt spokeswoman in didn't have an immediate comment, while an spokesman in India wasn't available. While the GTF powered Airbus A320neo and the Bombardier CSeries have entered service, the Embraer Ejet E2 family, Mitsubishi MRJ family, the Russian Irkut MC-21 and the Chinese COMAC C919 are under flight testing. Both A320neos and A321neos are affected. Approximately 374 units were delivered in 2017.

The patent shows the smartphone utilising an under-the-display fingerprint sensor, which doubles up as the home button. As you'd expect, each of the different families of cover are being offered in a variety of colors, too.

During ground testing, a PW1500G engine fitted to a Bombardier CS100 suffered an uncontained engine failure in 2014, while one of the two PW1200G powering the Mitusbishi MRJ experienced a in-flight uncontained engine failure during flight testing in 2017.

"We are honoured by the continuing confidence that SWISS has placed in Pratt & Whitney and in the GTF engine", said Chris Calio, President, Commercial Engines, Pratt & Whitney.
