Pregnant Woman Loses Baby After Being 'Kicked by CPM Activists'


The family of a pregnant woman has alleged that a Communist Party of India (Marxist) local leader attacked her because of which she lost her child.

She was admitted in a hospital, where the family was informed about a blood clot in the placenta.

On the woman's complaint, the Kodanchery police had arrested Naklikkattu Kutiyil Prajeesh (37), a neighbor.

The four-month pregnant woman was kicked in the stomach by Thamby, Velankodu CPI (M) branch secretary, and another CPI (M) activist. "An activist even threatened me that they will chop off my husband's legs, if we don't withdraw the case", the victim was quoted as saying.

The seven men had forcibly entered into Josana Sibby's house on January 28.
