Leicester manager Claude Puel says he hopes Riyad Mahrez can "get his head right" and rejoin the team, confirming the Algeria worldwide will not feature against Manchester City on Saturday.

The German added to a growing number of injury absentees which provoked Guardiola to name only six of a possible seven substitutes for last weekend's 1-1 draw at Burnley which saw City's lead at the top of the Premier League cut to 13 points.

"I hope he can get his right and come back with us and work hard".

"It was just one or two hours later and it would not have been correct to go the [youth team] manager who is preparing for the game and say "I need one or two players to go on the bench" when they are going to play".

"Now it's important to move on together and prepare for the next game".

A week later though the Manchester City manager seems to not be able to forget Neville's criticism and has taken fresh aim at him, focusing in on the ex-Manchester United defender's disastrous spell as Valencia manager back in 2016. "Five goals in the Premier League, especially against Leicester [makes it impressive]".

The England worldwide contrived to miss from three yards as City dropped two points at Turf Moor but this time made no mistake from a similar distance after just three minutes.
