Xiaomi Mi Max 3 to feature wireless charging, iris scanner: Specifications leaked

The Mi Max 3 will be powered by the Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor with Kryo 260 cores and Adreno 512 GPU. Interestingly, Xiaomi will be introducing wireless charging in the Mi Max lineup with the Mi Max 3 smartphone. So far, there have been a few leaks regarding the Mi Max 3 but, some interesting information has been revealed about the device. The Mi Max smartphones offer a large display and a mammoth battery making it the ideal companion for media consuming. That report claimed that it would feature a huge 5,500mAh battery, a 7-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio.

Additionally, Xiaomi is going to include a massive 5500 mAh battery in the phone, which will be 200mAh bigger than the one included in Mi Max 2.

The Max 3 is confirmed to be powered by the Snapdragon 660 chipset, but there might be another variant with Snapdragon 636 SoC, and it could make its way to the Indian market. But these firmware files obtained by XDA Developers do not confirm the size of the display.

The MIUI Keyguard APK firmware reveals some more information about the Xiaomi's upcoming phablet and also confirms some of the earlier leaked information. They discovered strings related to wireless charging.

XDA has also found references to an iris scanner as well as the presence of Android 8.1 Oreo, but none of the two are confirmed to be coming in the final Mi Max 3 unit. According to OmniVision's official website, "the OmniVision's OV2281 is a PureCel sensor that brings enhanced biometric security functionality to mobile devices". The Mi Max 3 will have either Sony's IMX363 camera sensor, or, Samsung's S5K217 + S5K5E8 sensors on the back. For the front, there will be a single S5K4H7 from Samsung, which could be accompanied by an iris scanner from Omnivision. Further, the leak also reveals that the smartphone will have a dual-SIM slot, dual SD card support, an IR Blaster, LED light notifications, audio tuned by Dirac and Qualcomm's aptX and aptX HD Bluetooth audio codecs.
