5 thoughts and a grade for Buffalo Bills trading Cordy Glenn

ESPN is reporting the Buffalo Bills will trade left tackle Cordy Glenn to the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Bills now have the 12th and 22nd (from Kansas City) picks in the first round, as well as the 53rd and 56th (from Rams) picks in the second round and may not be done dealing as they look to land their quarterback of the future.

Using a conventional draft trade value chart, the Bills could package the Bengals' first-round pick and the No. 22 selection (acquired previous year from Kansas City) to move as high as No. 4.

Oakland Raiders releasing cornerback Sean Smith
It didn't take long for the Oakland Raiders to release him from the roster as a result. His 32 tackles past year matched the fewest since his 2009 rookie season with Miami.

Quarterbacks Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, Josh Allen and Baker Mayfield are jockeying for top-10 status in Round 1, and the Bills have suddenly become a legitimate suitor as draft season kicks into high gear. The teams will also swap 5th and 6th round picks.

Dion Dawkins, a rookie second-round pick, started the 11 games Glenn didn't.

Now, all they have to do is be right about the quarterback.

Cards expected to release RB Adrian Peterson on Monday
Before joining the Cardinals, Peterson played four games with the Saints. Peterson suffered a neck injury during the 12th week, ending his season.

The Bills, already the league leader in dead cap money thanks to Marcel Dareus, take a $9.6 million dead cap hit. On Friday, Buffalo traded starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor to Cleveland for a third-round pick.

The Bengals have now filled a massive need with Glenn. The Bengals will also have Glenn under contract for non-guaranteed base salaries of $7.25 million (2018) and $7.5 million (2019), as well as $2 million roster bonuses each season.

In return, the Bills get to jump up nine spots in the first round.

INX Media case: CBI asks for 15 day custody for Karti Chidambaram
Special CBI judge Sunil Rana said the social status of the accused can not be the basis for a separate prison. Karti Chidambaram's father P Chidambaram was present in the courtroom during the hearing.

Glenn struggled to stay on the field in 2017, making only five starts due to a nagging ankle injury. He missed five games and played a career-low 657 snaps in 2016.
