Alexa's random creepy laughter is freaking out Echo users

"After the third request, Alexa stopped responding and instead did an evil laugh". While Amazon has already said it's working on a fix for the problem, it's revealed exactly what's causing the virtual assistant to fire out that creepy laugh.

By Wednesday, Amazon had gotten to the bottom of the mystery. It turns out, the event was triggered due to Alexa somehow interpreting two humans having a chat as "Alexa, laugh", commanding it to laugh.

Amazon's explanation is that #Alexa is programmed to laugh when it hears the words, "Alexa, laugh" and that the home assistant must be picking up sounds that sound like this phrase.

Additionally, a major concern of the president was about highly graphic violent games desensitising communities to violent acts. After the Florida slaughter, Trump pointed to video games as a possible contributing factor in firearms violence .

Amazon is also changing Alexa's response to that command: rather than have the assistant laugh right away, its cackling will be preceded by the sentence, "Sure, I can laugh". These claims were first published on social media, and since then, more and more reports have surfaced.

The original programmed prompt will also be disabled so there shouldn't be any more accidental laughing sessions emerging from your digital device.

As many people were terrified to find out, Amazon's Alexa can laugh and she's been laughing for no good reason.

As Comcastcorpclassa (CMCSA) Valuation Rose, Holder Fayez Sarofim & Company Increased Stake
Macquarie reiterated a "buy" rating and set a $40.00 price objective on shares of Comcast in a report on Thursday, December 7th. Mutual Of Omaha Bancorp Wealth Management holds 0.09% of its portfolio in Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA) for 6,182 shares.

The report says that Alexa will only respond if it is "confident" that you're asking another question and that it's not just background noise.

The random laugh is different from the "tee-hee" laugh Alexa gives when asked if it can laugh.

According to market research company eMarketer, 35.6 million Americans used a voice-activated digital assistant device at least once a month in 2017. Amazon did not say why the speaker would laugh when no one is talking.
